Description of the Project
The bridge, located at km 6.500 of the motorway A-6, passes over the access to Veterinary School, in the city of Madrid. It is a skew bridge formed by two hyper-static spans formed by 15 beams of variable section.
Both spans are 10.00 m and its width is 41.10 m, although there is a longitudinal joint between two beams, which makes it a double panel structure.
The work consisted of repairing all existing damage and reinforcing the structure with carbon fibre.
- Restoration of plastering .
- Elimination of damp and efflorescence.
- Sealing and crack injection.
- Cleaning and passivation of corroded truss .
- Recovery of lost volumes of concrete with high strength thixotropic mortars without shrinkage.
- Increased pier section.
- Reinforcement to improve the bearing capacity of the structure by placing carbon fibre reinforcement both shear and bending.
- Application of an acrylic anti-carbonation paint to improve r protection against corrosive agents.
