Description of the Project
IMESAPI, S.A. was awarded the contract in July 2024, tendered by the Port Authority of Marín and Ría de Pontevedra, for the “ENERGY EFFICIENCY IN THE PORT LIGHTING NETWORK” project. This initiative is funded by the European Union’s Next Generation EU program through the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan, with an execution period of eight months.
The project involves the complete replacement of the current outdoor lighting system, which primarily consists of high-pressure sodium vapor lamps, with new LED technology luminaires. A total of 482 lighting points will be installed, including the renovation of 422 existing ones and the addition of 60 new lighting points to improve illumination across different areas of the port. Of these, 182 will be floodlights mounted on port lighting towers, while 300 will be pole-mounted or wall-mounted luminaires.
Additionally, the project includes the installation of new columns, arms, and towers in various areas of the port, as well as the construction of underground conduits for new electrical wiring to power the additional lighting points. Telemanagement systems and programmable controllers will also be installed.
