Objective
Improve the accessibility, mobility and orientation of people with disabilities.
Description
ACCES is a guidance system that allows improving the accessibility, mobility and orientation of disabled people within the METRO DE MADRID network, with special emphasis on the group of blind people. To achieve the general objective, a series of specific objectives have been met through effective collaboration between the four companies participating in the Consortium:
- System based on information and guidance points that allows the effective guidance of blind people.
- System based on wireless technologies (bluetooth, radiofrequency) able to detect the location of blind people along the geometry of the stations.
- Positioning system designed with a specific guidance network, through external stimuli of sound active elements.
- Linear guidance system complementary to the guided by external stimuli that is a technological advance over the classic podotactic routes.
- Information system for people with hearing disabilities based on light information and through magnetic induction loops.
- Contextual support system for the information points, which complements the routing at the key points of addressing (for example, crossroads).
This project has been carried out with a budget co-financed by the Centre for the Development of Industrial Technology (CDTI) and by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
